But What do I Wear?!

One of the most common questions I get asked is "what should I wear?" After years and years of answering this question, I have decided to finally write a blog post about it to hopefully, help out anyone and everyone who might find themselves asking this question. I am going to dive into more depth on what to really wear to your photoshoot that you have coming up. I am going to try to answer any questions you might have about what to wear to your photoshoot. Here are all of my tips.

1. Dress for the weather.

I can't tell you how many times I will have people freezing during a photoshoot because they didn't dress for the weather! If you don't want to have purple arms and legs in pictures then please please please wear something that will keep you warm. If it is going to lightly rain on the day of your shoot and you don't want to or can't reschedule, wear cloths that you are okay getting wet in, wear shoes that you don't mind getting a little muddy too. If I am your photographer I will always bring my cute clear umbrella to every shoot just in case, but you never know what could happen. If you don't mind being cold for a second, then you can still wear that cute dress you wanted to wear, but remember, wear leggings underneath, and bring a coat to keep you warm in-between shots.

2. Actually wear something you would normally wear.

If you want your pictures to look like you, then dress how you would normally dress! This is so important! If you aren't a dressy person, don't feel like you have to wear a dress. If you don't like heals, then please don't wear heals! You are getting your pictures taken, so of course, you can still dress nicer than you would normally dress, I am not telling you to show up in sweatpants and a tee shirt. Please still looks nice, but still be yourself!

3. Wear muted neutral colors.

Now this is the most important tip! Muted neutral colors truly look the best in pictures. Especially with my editing style. Try really hard to avoid shirts with big logos. At the bottom of this blog post you will find a color palette I made of colors I think look really great in pictures!

4. Denim always looks good.

When in doubt, where denim! Trust me, it always looks good!

I really hope this blog post has helped you as you have been planning what to wear to your photoshoot coming up! Feel free to always email me with any questions that you might still have.

-xoxo, kapf
